United Academics Civil Rights Committee

The purpose of this committee is to create a fair, safe, inclusive and equitable environment for the University of Vermont’s (UVM) diverse community of stakeholders engaged in teaching, learning and research. We protect and advance the civil rights of all stakeholders including faculty, students, staff, and other UVM employees. Regardless of political beliefs or individual and group identities such as skin color, religion, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital or civil union status, or disability. We strive to promote equal treatment, academic freedom, shared governance, social justice inclusivity and environmental sustainability.

All UA members are welcome to join our committee and be part of this effort. We meet on Zoom every Wednesday, with alternating times of 9am or 3pm.

Please email info@unitedacademics.org with interest.
