Benefits of UA Membership

Joining means that you will have a say in the faculty organization that is negotiating the legally binding contracts which will cover all full-time and part-time faculty members. The more faculty members that join, the stronger our organization will be. A strong organization means a strong contact. There is strength in numbers.

Other benefits only offered to members include the following:

- Union members are eligible to receive 30 minutes of free legal advice/consultation (on non-employment-related matters) from our union's legal counsel.

- UA pays for your AFT liability insurance coverage, which gives you a million dollar liability policy should the University refuse to indemnify you in a case.

- New members to the union receive no-cost $12,000 term life insurance in the first year of membership.

Once you've joined UA, get in touch with your Departmental Representative to learn more about what UA is doing now to protect academic quality at UVM, and what you can do to make a difference on campus."
